Google brings its ARCore technology to China via the Xiaomi App store.
Google maintains its efforts to return to China with its ARCore technology. It finally pays off with its first partner, Xiaomi.
ARCore is Google’s platform for building augmented reality experiences.
Using different APIs (Application Programming Interface), ARCore enables your phone to sense its environment, understand the world and interact with information.
Some of the APIs are available on Android and iOS to enable shared AR experiences.
It’s a real challenge for Google to make its way in China.
The Google Play Store is restricted there, its services are either unavailable or blocked.
Thankfully, Google has found an approach.
Now, with its new partner, Google’s technology will be available for Xiaomi’s Mi Mix 2S devices via an app in the Xiaomi App Store.
As Google teased it on its Tweet, more partners are coming soon.
