Square is buying Weebly Website Builder for $365 million
Weebly is a website builder like Wix or Squarespace. Weebly also competes with Medium.
Square is a financial technology service known for his payment used by small business on an iPad to read credit card.
Square has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Weebly in a deal that includes a mix of cash and stock.
According to Square, the main goal of this acquisition is to merge Square’s hardware and software payment system, with Weebly, and create a single solution for starting and running a business both physically and online.
“Square began its journey with in-person solutions while Weebly began its journey online. Since then, we’ve both been building services to bridge these channels, and we can go even further and faster together.” – said Jack Dorsey, CEO of Square.
The parties expect to close the transaction during the second quarter of 2018.
