Almost everybody knows about Google Earth and Google Map (and the satellite mode). Now, imagine the same thing, but in real-time!
That’s what EarthNow, want to do.
Helped by a new satellite constellation, they will offer a real-time video of earth, which will be more than practical when it’s related to the weather’s incidents: typhoon, hurricane…
When you can follow it in real time, it’s easier to understand how they will impact us, and so, take the best measures to avoid catastrophic end.
To execute that, EarthNow recently closed the first round of financing with investments from Airbus, the SoftBank Group, Bill Gates, and Greg Wyler.
We have no information about the amount they raised, but in relation to the project’s size, it may be a few million.
The constellation will be deployed by phases, will the goal of 100% coverage of our planet.
